Kalamity Burgers / Hamburguesas buenas, bonitas y baratas en la Roma Norte

Arely and Ricardo, who aren't even 30 yet, made me feel the healthiest kind of envy after talking to them. First, because they are in love and have been together for 4 years; second, because, side by side, they've created an amazing concept: Kalamity Burgers.

Their idea was born after a "culinary exploration" trip to the United States. In Los Angeles and New York, they did their research, which, a year ago, turned into a modern, fun, and tasty concept. They themselves say that when you take a bite of one of their sliders, "you're tasting love." [Sliders are small burgers that originated at White Castle restaurants in the U.S. in 1921].

These burgers are found in a “gastronomic corridor” that used to be a record label called Ediciones Pentagrama: in fact, the walls of the stairwell are lined with records from famous bands and singers.

Arely has a degree in gastronomy, and Ricardo studied Tourism Management; what brought them together, they say, is their shared love of food. Of course, everyone loves food, but turning that love into a working partnership is the tricky part: she creates the recipes, while he handles the administration and cooks the burgers. The synergy between them is perfect. One of the results is the Kalamity Burger, which contains beef, American cheese, caramelized onions, and their "secret sauce" between two fluffy potato buns, just as it should be.

Arely and Ricardo, who constantly monitor and learn from their business, also offer other types of sliders, such as the cheese, vegetarian, bacon, and classic sliders. You can also order Kalamity Fries, topped with cheese sauce, smoked bacon bits, and, of course, their secret sauce.

Interesting: If you have a small appetite, you can get a slider; but if you're really hungry (Ricardo claims he's a big eater), you can order a combo and finish the meal with a milkshake made entirely from ice cream, a float, or an Oreo ice cream. You won't regret it!

Food Police advice: If you're one of those people who doesn't have time to sit down and eat, Kalamity Burgers offers its own delivery service within a 4-kilometer radius. And if you're bringing your dog, don’t worry, they’re pet-friendly.
