Thailand is located in the South Pacific, let's say between China and the Philippines. Its territory is about 500 thousand square kilometers (a quarter of Mexico) and has a population of approximately 70 million inhabitants. Its political life has been very troubled because there have been several coups d'état. It suffered a terrible misfortune in 2004 when its coasts in the Indian Ocean were wounded by a tsunami (specifically in the city of Phuket, a wonder of nature).

Thai food in Mexico City

Thai food is illustrious all over the planet, although it includes dishes that are spicy even for Mexicans. In a residence in Polanco, built in 1942, a couple of years ago, the Thai restaurant Manāw was established. (Manāw is the name of a Thai salad with green papaya, carrot, red chili, peanuts, pea pods, cherry tomato and coriander).

It is imperative to get down to business, because you have to explain the menu (and look for the signs that accompany some letters). Pad Thai is the most famous: it is cooked in a wok and contains rice noodles, meat, peanuts, tamarind sauce, soy sauce: delicious! (And it's not spicy). The Chor Muang Dumplings are filled with anchan flower (a blue flower with which infusions are also made), wagyu, foie gras, coconut sauce, garlic chips. The Pad Ew (it's the one I like the most, for its richness), contains flat rice noodles, soy sauce, rib-eye, Chinese broccoli. The Sątąy (check the tail of the "a"), is popular, they say, in the streets of Bangkok: they are skewers with meat or chicken marinated for 12 hours in curry. I hope you can pronounce the names, for example, the Khaō Păd Saporōd, a wonderful combination of fried rice with pineapple, cashew nuts, basil, curry, sprouts, peas… I could go on indefinitely with these combinations: flavors worthy of exploration.
