Museum Restaurants in CDMX / Restaurante Universum: Food Flavored with Scientific and Technological Knowledge.
Universum is a science museum located in C.U. At its restaurant, you can enjoy international dishes or choose from a special kids' selection called the "dinomenu."

By Alejandro Pohlenz
The Universum museum opened in 1992. Dedicated to science and technology, it's certainly fascinating and is part of UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). This unique museum has 13 permanent halls exhibiting diverse topics: from the universe to the health of Homo sapiens sapiens. I'll highlight some of the most notable exhibits here: you can explore the universe, stars, galaxies, and planets; journey through the seas and discover their ecosystems; delve into the structure of our very complex brain; learn about topics related to sexuality; and understand mathematics, not with the tedium taught in schools, but through play. It's essential that you check out the José de la Hernán Planetarium. Recently, Universum modernized its children's area "to foster scientific curiosity in children through play." Among the 190 museums in CDMX, this is one of the most striking and appealing (of course, for those who enjoy science and technology).

International Cuisine
If you've thoroughly explored Universum, you're most likely hungry. So, without delay, head to Restaurante Universum (also called "Restaurante Gourmet Universum"). The cuisine is international. There's, for example, tuna tataki ("seared tuna loin set on a bed of quinoa"), salads, meat cuts, and pasta.

The Dinomenu
However, I think the most notable feature is the "Dinomenu" (it reminded me of the extinct Burger Boy, with its "brontodoubles" and "dinotriples"). Here at Universum, there are dino nuggets, dino chicken soup, the Paricutín volcano (totopos with American cheese), the dino burger, of course, and a large artisanal dinosaur-shaped cookie called... what do you think?... dino cookie. "When purchasing the children's menu, kids receive a dinosaur egg as a gift." Will a small dinosaur hatch, like in Jurassic Park?

It should be noted that the Cafetería Universum is also located there, smaller but no less remarkable. Both provide breakfast options.
